30. Twisted verbs -ę -sz - piję i tańczę

Lets's find another group of widely used verbs which have a little twisted root.

 Here the difference is very small and only for the I and they person. Taking for exmaple the 'tańczyć' verb - to dance. According to the rule you would say:
ja tańczyę
ty tańczysz
on tańczy
my tańczymy
wy tańczycie
oni tańczyą

Well.. it was correct only for ty /on/ my/  wy. 
For ja and oni , there is a small difference ad it should be:
ja tańczę

oni tańczą


Exercise: look at the rest of verbs and try to conjugate them.

płacić kartą - to pay with card

Exercise: Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb.

Note: word 'się' 
- as you know 'się' means myself/yourself/himself etc.  Some verbs exist with 'się' but also without 'się' depending on the context. For example ' czuć się' and 'czuć' - i.e. to feel, to sense, to smell
If you want to say that you feel some other thing like smell/touch you don't add 'się' and say: Czuję twoje perfumy - I feel you perfumes
If you want to say that you are feeling youlsef good/bad/tired, you add ' się'  - Czuję się zmęczony - I feel tired.

Some other verb roots get 
J for I an they 
JE for you/ he  she / we / you plural.


example with pić:
ja piję                       my pijemy
ty pijesz                  wy pijecie
on pije                      oni piją




źle - badly
zęby - teeth
słabo - weak 
kwiat - flower 
naczynia - dishes ( pots and plates)

Exercise: Choose the correct version of the verb.

4. Czy ty czujsz się / czujesz się słabo. 
5. Wy  dostajecie / dostacie dużo emaili.
6. Oni dają / daje kwiaty na urodziny.
7. Ty piesz / pijesz kawę.
8. Ja  nie myję / myjem naczyń.

answer: kończę, czujesz się, nie pali, nudzimy się, płacą, uczycie się, tańczę, myje, pijesz




Exercise:  Read the text about below: Anna is talking a little bit about her life, so she uses the 'I' for of the verbs. Your task is to talk about Anna and change the 'I' form of the verb into the 'she' form of the verb e.g  To jest Anna Bąk. Ona .....
