16.Poproszę - ...., please

When you want to ask for something, for example in a shop, you can use 'Poproszę'.

Poproszę means 'please' as in ' Can I have ... please '?

Poproszę bilet - A  ticket, please. ( or Can I have a ticket, please?)
Poproszę ręcznik - A towel, please
Poproszę klucze - Keys, please.
Poproszę długopis - A pen, please.

However, don't think it is so easy. It's Polish, so there has to be some twist to it.

Look at the below phrases. In these cases the ending changes after 'Poproszę'.
Can you guess the rule ?

Poproszę książkę - A book, please.
Poproszę zapalniczkę - A lighter, please.
Poproszę walizkę - A suitcase, please.

Have you guessed it?
When a noun ends with A ( eg. książka, zapalniczka, walizka), the ending changes into Ę in a 'Poproszę...' phrase.

TIP
Nouns are generally divided into: masculine nouns, feminine and neutral ones.
Feminine: end with A
Neutral: end with E or O
Masculine: end with all the other letters
